Anokhi Ladhani Industrial Revolution Essay The Industrial Revolution which began in Britain in 1750 because the earliest inventors and engineers were from Britain. With the Industrial Revolution, urban societies grew. This caused people to work in factories instead of on their farms. They began to work for the same amount of time every day and used machinery instead of making things by hand. This allowed goods to be mass produced cheaply and efficiently. In short the Industrial Revolution was a dramatic change in all aspects of work. As competition increased for companies factories and other employers desire for money also grew so to the population and demand for industrialization. Peter Gaskill, a medical examiner saw these things happening in the factories. He wrote about how the factories had no ventilation making it really hot, especially when the workers had to wo rk for hours at a stretch without moving. The children working in the factories in London, England 1930 would barely get any exercise and this would disrupt their growth and development (â€Å"The Life.†) The chimney sweepers regulation bill was rejected in 1819. It required the use of machines to clean chimneys. Young boys were going up chimneys to clean them and the machines that were used in the factories could have done this dangerous task for them but even after Parliament s debate on march 8th, 1819 the bill was never passed and those boys had to continue sweeping chimneys without the aid of machines used in factories. The health of these boys were not taken care of by the employers and all they wanted was to make profit even if it made others suffer (â€Å"Opposition.†) Some argue that the Industrial Revolution was a positive development because new inventions and forms of technology made the work in the factories more cheap and efficient.
